Want to fish one day, explore the back country the next, relax in a beautiful mountain lodge, and top it off with a cruise on the ocean without worrying about the logistics or transportation? Let Alaska Mountain and Stream be your host, travel agent, guide and chauffeur in an all inclusive vacation of a lifetime! This is a great way to experience the Kenai peninsula and Alaska without the work and headaches of booking trips and lodging with multiple companies. Our knowledgeable guides and representatives will accompany you throughout the adventure, on daily activities and will also give you time to soak in your surroundings and enjoy your family and friends. We book only one group or family at a time meaning you get very personalized service and our complete attention your entire trip! Below are our basic itineraries which we then customize to fit each groups tastes and desires. Please call us with any questions and to get more details.
Sample itinerary 1. 5day, 4 night Kenai/Cooper adventure package.
Day 1. We will pick you up at your hotel in Anchorage or other nearby community (Girdwood, Seward) at 10:00 am. This first night is not part of your package but we can help you book your hotel if needed. We will begin the beautiful journey south towards Cooper Landing, on the way enjoy a picnic lunch and visit something Alaska is famous for: a glacier! Upon arriving in Cooper Landing we will check into the lodge and then have dinner at one of the areas fine restaurants.
Day 2. After breakfast we will take a scenic raft trip on the turquoise waters of the Kenai River. Lunch will be served river-side after which we will continue downstream to the confluence of the Russian River. Here we will hike to the Russian River Falls to view mountain scenery and Salmon leaping the falls on their way to spawn. That night after dinner we have many options for activities such as evening fishing, exploring a local lake, or just relaxing at the lodge with a book.
Days 3 and 4. "Open" itineraries allowing us to customize the vacation to suit your group. We can mix and match from a variety of activities including (but not necessarily limited to) full and half day float fishing, walk/wade fishing, whitewater rafting, Kenai Fjords National Park tour, horseback riding, Kenai Lake kayaking, hiking, shopping, and cultural tours. If part of the group wants to do one activity and part of the group another, that can be arranged as well. You will of course be catered to a tasty breakfast lunch and dinner each of these days.
Day 5. The last morning you will be treated to an outdoor brunch where we will eat well and say goodbye to Cooper Landing. On the return journey to Anchorage to catch your flight or check into your hotel (or other destination depending on your plans), we have the option to make several scenic stops, visit wildlife viewing areas, museums, or other cultural heritage sites.

Trip starts with a pick up in Anchorage (or other nearby location) and arriving in Cooper Landing for dinner and the first nights lodging.
Day 1. Enjoy breakfast at the lodge and then the fishing begins! Today we will fish the world class Upper Kenai River. This is a float trip from one of our 20' drift boats targeting Sockeye or Silver Salmon (depending on time of year), trophy rainbow trout and dolly varden. Lunch will be served riverside. After fishing, relax at the lodge before having dinner at one of the areas fine restaurants.
Day 2. After breakfast its off for a full day of walk/wade fishing. This is a great way to explore the area and have the chance to fish a variety of rivers and streams. We may fish one location in the morning, take lunch and a short drive, and then fish a different location in the afternoon. That night its another tasty dinner and time to relax at the lodge.
Day 3. Today its up early for a drive to Seward for a day of ocean fishing on Resurrection Bay. This is not one of those 10 or more person Halibut charters. This is your group, a captain and guide on our comfortable Searay fishing boat. We will fish for Salmon, Halibut, Ling cod and more. And the mountains, forests and glaciers surrounding this bay make for incredible scenery. Lunch will be on the boat and dinner at one of Seward's excellent restaurants.
Day 4. One day on the Kenai River just isn't enough so we will head back to its turquoise waters and the action packed fishing it provides. Once again we will target Salmon, Trout and Dolly Varden from a drift boat with limited wade fishing. This is classic Alaskan fishing-enjoy! After fishing, we will have dinner and one last night in Cooper Landing. The next morning we will say our goodbyes and make the return journey to Anchorage to catch your flight. If you would like to take fish home, we can package and box it for you.
